What is Home Health Care?
Just like it sounds, home health allows trained professional healthcare providers to come to your home and care for you in place! This is an essential care option for many and can be applied to many different kinds of conditions.
  • Recovering from surgery
  • Managing chronic illness
  • Assistance with daily activities due to age or disability
  • Medication management
  • ...more!
What Kinds of Services Can be Provided?
The type of care provided can vary depending on the type of agency, their certifications and local and federal regulation. These services are typically prescribed by a physician and are delivered by professionals, including nurses, therapists, and home health aides, who work under the supervision of the patient's doctor. At Pro Health Care Services, we're a Medicare Certified agency and are partners with many insurance providers and special programs, allowing us to provide the following kinds of care:
  • Home Health Aide -  Assisting with personal care tasks like bathing, dressing, grooming, as well as homemaking and errands.
  • Skilled Nursing - Providing wound care, medication and condition management, assessments, oversight and more!
  • Therapy -  Physical and Occupational therapy as prescribed by a doctor in your own home.
Is Home Health Covered by Insurance?
Usually - yes!  Most insurances will cover some amount of home health care depending on your need and condition as verified by your doctor.  Some will have maximum yearly limits while others may require repeated authorizations every 60 days or so.  There are yet others that cover home care with few limitations as long as it is medically necessary. Coverage details can vary, but don't worry—our team will help you understand your benefits and handle the paperwork with your insurance company.

How Do I Become a Client?
Just ask!  We understand the language of health insurance companies and medical offices can be a LOT.  Fill our our request form or give us a call and we'll walk through the process with you. Even if we can't take your case, we're happy to explain the steps and answer your questions.

What Information Do I Need to Share?
To ger started, we'll usually ask you for some basic information on the client:
  • Name and demographic information,
  • Insurance coverage, any waivers or special programs they're a part of,
  • Doctor's information,
  • and the client's care needs and goals
What About the Direct Care Worker Shortage?
We, like almost all other agencies are affected by this - to be sure! The 2024 Benchmark Report for Home Care shows that nationwide, the current turnover rate for direct care worker positions is more than 79%. This means about 4 out of every 5 home care employees leaves the job within their first 100 days!

Why? It's a tough job!! They have to complete required training, undergo supervision, work hands-on with clients within their own homes, and fulfill compliance and documentation requirements all in a timely manner while putting the needs of the patient first! It's complicated, time consuming, underpaid and frankly, undervalued on a national level. This means many patients may experience delays in getting their care started quickly, if at all. It's awful, and we're doing our part to make sure that not only are things changing on a regulatory level, but on the local front as well by offering creative staffing solutions and innovative processes.

How Do I Get Care if There is Not Enough Staff?
We pride ourselves in being a compassionate and forward-thinking organization!  While we may not have staff ready and waiting to take you on as a home care client, there are other ways that we can assist!
  • Family and Friends: Did you know parents or children can sometimes be paid caregivers through certain programs?
  • Community Members: A trusted neighbor or friend can become your caregiver.
  • Training Provided:  Pro Health Care Services will provide training for a viable candidate who is willing to complete the on-boarding process and requirements for hire! No prior experience required!
Being a caregiver doesn't have to be a full-time job. Hours can be flexible as they are based on the need of the client. We do not require that a caregiver hired to work with a specific client must take on additional workload or clients (unless they want to). Discuss this opportunity with those around you, and let us know if you have someone in mind when you begin the new client intake process. We'll be happy to start your new client intake process AND their on-boarding at the same time.

We look forward to meeting and assisting you! Give us a call at 614-856-911 or complete the new client inquiry form here.
